Hapa zome is the technique of hammering plants, flowers and leaves to transfer them onto fabric.

The best things in life are free... Yes, when in comes to upcycling this is kind of true! You can use your old, boring and/or worn-out clothes and create them into new stunning creations.

One day I found something interesting in the huge pile of discarded and outgrown clothes that are in my closet. It was an old hoodie that my youngest son, Marcel, used quite a long ago when he was about eleven or twelve years old.

Fabric manipulation is also called "Layered cloth" and you use textiles that you put in layers upon layers on top of each other and then you sew and cut. It's super fun to do and it's a bit of a surprise every time, you can largely control how you want it but not completely. Textiles has a will of it´s own...

A while ago I saw an Instagram post from "The southern Sweden handicraft society" (in swedish it is called Skånes Hemslöjdsförbund). They wanted to give away several bobbin lace makers that they had found in their basement. I am not that much into making bobbin lace, it takes sooooo much time to do, but I couldn´t resist the free offer so I went to the Handicraft society to pick it up.

In the first saison of Emily in Paris Emily wore a cute little bag with a face on it when she went to an exciting work soirée. I really like that bag so I made my own version of it. Why don´t you make one yourself? All you need is a pre-loved handbag, some old sunglasses, some leftover fabrics for the face and eventually some jewellery.

Tora Vega Holmström was a swedish artist who lived 1880-1967. Her motto"I refeuse to submit" permeated all her life. She wanted to be a free person, she didn´t want to get married, she wanted to be her own boss. Not many women dared to take that decision in those days. I guess it made her a bit lonely but she wanted to stay a free spirit all her life. I think you can se that in her self portrait; I am my own boss! Don´t mess with me!

I worked at a Christmas market with the association Skånelin in the cozy village Stenestad which is located on Söderåsen in the south of Sweden. My new favourite Titania-corset is made from an old embroidery that I found at an auction. The embroidery is based on a painting from 1825 called The Red boy by Sir Thomas Lawrence.

Embroiditate... a lovely mix of embroidery and meditation. To embroider and to meditate at the same time - embroiditate... It's a beautiful word, isn't it? No stress, no preasure, just pleasure - embroiditate!
